It has Started

Well we now have the holes for the building dug and there was a pile of dirt I didn't expect.
Then yesterday they delivered the forklift for Parker Building to use,

Today two truckloads of materials showed up and I got to help unload them.

A lot of lumber and then there are the Doors and Windows.

Tomorrow the plumber will be here to hook the water back up, again I was able to help by getting the trench dug, with Steve's help.

Drilling and digging!!

Well they came on one of the worst days of this summer and drilled our holes.
Of course as soon as they started drilling it started raining and on about the sixth of twenty-six holes we found a water pipe so we shut down the water and called the plumber.
Button to the rescue he showed up and capped the line that we broke so that we at least had water to Mom's House.
So now we dig,
as you can see I believe in child labour, these are Steve's kids and they are eager to help, of course everyone has to lend a hand even the Wildwoman her self took a turn digging.
Now we wait and on Monday the inspector will look at the holes and then on the 28th the Materials should show up and Matt said that the crew should start on the first, but I'll have to check with him and see if they will really start on a holiday (Labor Day).
Also on the 28th Button should be back to hook-up the two other buildings.

Building progress

Today they delivered the bags of concrete for the poles and tomorrow the driller should be there the dig the holes, of course the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Two days ago Matt from Parker was there and did the final set-up as far as location for the holes.
Meanwhile over the week-end we went to Salem, OR for a Falcon Car Show on Saturday, at the POWERLAND Museum in Brooks, OR (6 miles from Salem)

On Saturday night there was a Cruz-in at a Drive-in (Rock N Rogers) close to our Hotel.

Still waiting

It seems like it is now taking forever for the time to pass. We have the site level and are waiting on Parker Building who will be here on the 18th of August.
The house has been listed for a while but no offers yet, but there has been a lot more people looking this time compared to last time.
While I had the Lebaron up on the lift for an oil change I did a through inspection of the undercarriage and everything is OK for now. The exhaust leak is a cracked tail pipe and the brakes are in great shape.
The Pick-up has the new driveline installed and it is running great.

Hurry-up and Wait

Well the professionals were here and it didn't take them long to level the site.

Now we just are waiting for Parker Building to come and set the posts, they say that they will start on Aug 18th, give or take.
Setting the poles will take some time because they will have to drill the holes and then put concrete in the bottoms and then get an inspection before they can set the poles and finish pouring the concrete, but once the poles are in place it should not take them long to put the building together.
While they were here I asked them to remove the stump that was on the north side of the house, and move all material they removed to the south edge of the property to cover the drain culvert.
